WTAC 2014

Postby John Cuthbert » Sun Oct 19, 2014 9:37 pm

Anyone get out to see it this year?

767B was the hands down highlight. Seeing a crowd that big go quiet whilst this was driving around was magic. Best sounding rotor I have ever heard.

Simon and I made the trip mainly to see that car - completely agree with your assessment John :).

Wrong engine :(. Not that there's anything wrong with a 12A bridgeport.

Fairly over-powered r32. Went from 100 to 300 km/h in 500m. No one else got near it.

Also took a video of one of them zero cylinder race cars, but the audio compression artifacts make it not worth sharing. Thanks Google!

That datsun coupe looked identical to my old one!

:(

Was a sweet event. x3 for the silence when the 767 came past.
Was excellence.

Not too sure about the rear wheel on that FATRRX3 - bit too much for me, but still a stunning car.

I thought that the Rotaries were reasonably well represented over the weekend. Quite a few quick times posted. Wonder how I would go? never been to SMSP before.

That NITTO II Skyline during the flying 500 was crazy. I doubt there is another car (on Radials) that could beat it.

Thanks for the pics. I took some also, and will put them up when I get the chance. I noticed 13B stamped on the housings for the 767, I was curious to see if it had anything different.

Need to get organised for another track day me thinks....

For the claimed "worlds best" Rx3 it was pretty sweet. I agree. Wheels and brakes were too much and we were wondering if infact the brakes worked.

Is that the yellow one? Man if it is I'm mega annoyed I missed that run. Looked serious.

I read somewhere that a few people noticed this. Rumoured that the motor in it isn't the legit motor but something put in there so the real on is presevered? Could be wrong saw it on the internetz so must be true.

Need to get organised for another track day me thinks.

Good idea.
Need more interest though. Wasn't enough when I threw it up a while back :(

Yep - that NITTO II skyline is the yellow one. I would like to see one of those american tuned Audi R8 / Lambos that are pumping out 1500hp have a crack at this. There was an R32 street car on the Friday which was fastest, but ended in a puff of smoke so I assume some damage was done as the car didnt compete on the Saturday.

That R32 and the yellow drag one's were crazy. Blazing all their tyres the whole track.

p.s - I really wish that Under Suzuki would have won outright. Hopefully next year. Never thought I would see the day where a RWD car 'could' top all the AWDs.

I thought the 767B was meant to run a triple plug set-up?

Pretty sure only the 26B had that. The 767s run a 13J.
