All Japanese Car and Bike show - 9 May 2015

Postby singallant » Mon Mar 23, 2015 12:47 pm

REACT is hosting an event!

The All Japanese Car and Bike show is on Saturday May 9, at Geoscience Australia.

Like it says on the tin, this is for ALL Japanese cars and bikes, and we'll even allow Aus-built Skylines and Geminis in.
Go spam the other forums - let's make this thing worthwhile!

Any REACTors who volunteer to help me set up will be looked upon favorably.

SWEET!
Is there a formal poster we can use to pass the word around?

Probably get some Gemini guys involved in the setup.

Happy to do photo things to of course :)

Let me know what you need I will rally the troops.
Well attempt to

OK, so this is a thing!
It will be starting at 10am. As per the map we are using the carpark of Geoscience Australia, Jerrabomberra Avenue, Symonston. It is a HUGE carpark with lots of room for everyone. Each car will park over two spaces, so there won't be any door-clashing problems, and there will be heaps of room for people to more around. ......
If you plan to come as a club, let the organisers know how many cars and we can ensure a space is set aside.

Otherwise, unless we decide to colour code it, then the arrangement will probably generally by marque. (a fancy word for car brand).

Who can show? If your car/bike was made in Japan, or is the same as a car/bike that was made in Japan (r31 skyline, holden gemini), you're eligible. A Lexcen isn't. Is a roadpacer replica eligible? Bring it. Note that this is really a show for enthusiasts, and that stock mazda 121s, and anything that could be a pickup truck may well be sent to a far corner.

Got a jap bike or car to sell? Come and show it off.

At this stage we will probably not have general trophies. There may be a promotors choice or similar.
We will be handing out a questionaire to car owners on the day to get some details and also some feedback on what people want in an 'All Japanese Car and Bike Show'.

Cheers,
buzz.

OK, the 'organising committee' (terms used loosely) met yesterday at the site, and it's going to be awesome.
We're expecting at least 15 Subarus, similar numbers of 86s, a bunch of skylines, a handful of celicas, and most excitingly Neal Bates Automotive are planning to bring some historic race and rally machinery.
Let's get a large rotary group happening too!

If anyone is willing to dedicate any of their time to helping us set up, that'd be super tops.

REACT members who show their card will get free entry. REACT members who volunteer their time will get their entry fee refunded!

Please spread the word and consider attending. This is a sanctioned club event, so cars on historic plates can definitely attend. If not enough people post in this thread about how excited they are (really, c'mon guys, this is the first club event in ages!), I'll use the magic 'email everyone' tool and spam you    .

I've got a cruise in meet up prior to this but can help out where needed during the day.

Did you send me a membership card?

Fair amount of talk on bookface about it. So should be pretty big.

I don't know how many Pre-85 crew people are coming. Few Datsun guys are keen.

Probably about 10 Geminis if we can muster the numbers.

I think I did, but my paperwork says I didn't. So, no. I'll bring the stuff on the 9th and you can have one for all of a month. :).

10 Gemis?! That's nearly 100hp!

Anyone interested in helping out, we will be meeting at Geoscience this Sunday (3rd of May) at around 3pm.

If you can help out that would be fantastic, and much appreciated.
